TiVo Summer Veterans Program Aiding Transition to Technology Industry

The TiVo Summer Veterans Intern Program offers veterans returning from a war zone or deployment a chance to offer their valuable skills to various teams at TiVo's corporate headquarters. The program assists veterans as they transition to the corporate work force and TiVo benefits greatly from their contributions.

ALVISO, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 24, 2012) - TiVo Inc. (NASDAQ: TIVO) held its first annual summer veterans luncheon at corporate headquarters in Alviso, CA yesterday to honor the contributions of 10 U.S. Military veterans who are completing TiVo's first TiVo Summer Veterans Intern Program (TiVets). The unique program gives recent vets a transition from military to corporate life.

The TiVo Summer Veterans Program was created by a group of TiVo employees who are veterans in collaboration with Tom Wolzien, Lead Director on the TiVo Board of Directors and a Vietnam War veteran himself. The TiVo veterans developed the program to bridge the career gap between active military duty and civilian employment. The paid internships let the recent vets translate the managerial and operational skills learned in the military into the practical needs of the private sector within the rigors of a corporate environment. At the same time, they gain a valuable "first civilian job" entry for their resumes and job history with a major corporate employer.

"This program recognizes that recent vets have many skills developed in the military that are important to the private sector, but may have difficulty explaining those skills to potential civilian employers," said Tom Wolzien, Lead Director on the TiVo Board of Directors. "The intensive three-month internships give veterans the chance to demonstrate those critical skills at TiVo, and gain a solid civilian employment record for their resumes."

"TiVo values the tremendous service and sacrifice of our veterans," said Nancy Kato, TiVo's Senior Vice President of Human Resources. "While this program is designed to help translate the skills veterans have acquired through their military service into a corporate role, we are ultimately the thankful ones. It is an honor to have them at TiVo and their contributions are invaluable."
